On Thursday, March 11th, 2004
at 9PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC) in Huntington, Long
Island will present a concert of Irish music with legendary
female vocalist MARY BLACK.
This special performance of Mary Black is
in conjunction with a broadcast on Channel 21 WLIW (public
television) of a previously recorded concert by Ms. Black;
to be aired during their winter pledge drive. Tentative air
date is March 4th.
Mary Black’s distinguished career has
spanned over 20 years from her early days in Dublin folk clubs
through ever-escalating success with seven platinum solo albums
one of which- No Frontiers- spent fifty-six weeks in the Irish
Top 30. Needless to say Mary Black is a seminal figure in
Irish musical history and one of the artists responsible for
its relatively recent blossoming on a global level.
Mary Black’s band includes such distinguished,
Irish musicians as: James Blennerhassett (bass), Pat Crowley
(piano and accordion) and Martin Ditcham (percussion) with
a special guitar player to be announced at a later date.
Tickets for this performance are $37.50 ($28.50
