On
Saturday, September 27th, 2003 at 9PM, the Inter-Media Art
Center (IMAC) in Huntington, Long Island will present a concert
with jazz trumpeter RICK BRAUN.
A pioneering
trumpeter in contemporary jazz, RICK BRAUN has truly hit his
groove. With his new Warner Brothers’ release, Kisses
In The Rain, this two-time smooth jazz “Artist of the
Year” continues to blend soulful melodies and forceful
funk rhythms with a cool contemporary vibe that has become
his signature.
Rick Braun’s
previous release, Full Stride, spent a spectacular 20 consecutive
week in the Top 10 of Billboard’s “Top Contemporary
Jazz” chart. Tracks like the buoyant “Hollywood
and Vine” or the smoky- sleek “South of Midnight”
cast dramatic new shades on the trumpeter’s ever-adventurous
approach towards instrumental pop music. As Braun says, “The
thing about smooth jazz, it’s not always smooth, and
it’s not always jazz. Its roots are more pop and R&B-based
than anything else.” IMAC is thrilled to welcome back
Rick Braun and his sultry, sexy, funk-infused vibe to our
stage.
Tickets
for this performance are $37.50 ($28.50 for IMAC Members).
