On
Saturday, August 10th at 9pm, the Inter-Media Art Center in
Huntington, Long Island will host a concert with rock icons
ERIC BURDON & THE NEW ANIMALS.
ERIC
BURDON's life has been a musical journey matched by few other
performers in modern music history. He has gone from the driving
force of the grittiest British Invasion band, to pioneering
the San Francisco psychedelic rock scene, to fronting WAR, cutting
a blues LP with jazz-blues great Jimmy Witherspoon, to coming
full circle and reuniting his original band THE ANIMALS for
a world-wide tour. Eric Burdon & The Animals had taken the
world by storm with such songs as San Franciscan Nights, Colored
Rain, When I was Young, White Houses, the fiercely anti-war
song Sky Pilot, and the now famous homage to the 1967 Monterey
International Pop Festival, Monterey. Eric Burdon & WAR
gave us such classics as Tobacco Road and Spill the Wine. Other
collaborations include Jazz-Blues great Jimmy Witherspoon and
Robby Krieger of the Doors
The
latest collaboration, ERIC BURDON & THE NEW ANIMALS has
its own sound and in addition to the classic Burdon songs, its
own material. The new band features guitarists Dean Restum and
Neal Morse (Morse also on keyboards), bassist Dave Meros, and
the back-beat of one of the true legends in popular music, drummer
Bernie Pershey.
