On FRIDAY, June 14th at 9PM, the Inter-Media Art Center in Huntington will host an unplugged, acoustic concert by South African guitarist/vocalist JONATHAN BUTLER.

JONATHAN BUTLER’s exceptional voice and gift for expressing himself with a guitar brought him his first hit record at the age of twelve. It is one of the first songs played by a black artist to be played on white radio stations in Cape Town, South Africa, a city deeply divided by apartheid. Jonathan used his music to balance between those two worlds, “Now, when I’m about to go on stage and I hear someone say, ‘From South Africa – Jonathan Butler!,’ I’m the proudest guy!”

And he has a right to be proud – the international community has embraced his music since he moved to London in the mid-80’s, where his album Jonathan Butler, went gold and produced the Grammy-nominated hit single “Lies.” His songs have been recorded by artists like George Bensen, Billy Ocean, Angela Bofill and Kenny Loggins.
