On Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 7PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (also known as “IMAC”) in Huntington, Long Island will host a spectacular evening of thrills and family fun with THE SHANGRI-LA CHINESE ACROBATS.
The Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats offers more than a glimpse into the fascinating Orient. Their multi-faceted, and multi-cultural, production features dazzling acrobatic displays, formidable feats of daring and balance, explosive Kung Fu, brilliant costumes, and even a touch of Chinese comedy. The entertainment provided by these gifted performers appeals to all ages from young children to grand parents. The grace and precision of the acrobats are the triumph of years of dedicated training and discipline, but their art was formed by centuries of tradition. Chinese acrobatics are in fact more than just a series of stunts. Most of these acts clearly demonstrate the achievement of perfection through finding harmony between mind and body – an ancient concept of the Orient. Their last performance here at IMAC got rave reviews by young and old alike – don’t miss this opportunity. Children who are 11 years old and younger get a 25% discount on a regular priced ticket.
Tickets for this performance are $45.00 ($34.00 for IMAC Members). For tickets or further information on this performance, or on other IMAC programs, call IMAC's 24-hour Arts-Line at (631) 549-ARTS.
