On
Saturday, January 10th, 2004 at 9PM, the
Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC) in Huntington, Long Island
will present a concert with bluegrass band The DEL McCOURY
BAND
With
over 24 International Bluegrass Music Association awards
to their credit, The Del McCoury Band has been called
the First Family of Bluegrass Music.Del McCoury is
an entertainer of the highest caliber- and one of the most
genuine, affable souls in bluegrass music- thrilling audiences
over his 40-year career.
His
distinguished band is as versatile an outfit as one could
ever imagine, featuring his sons Rob on banjo and Ronnie
on mandolin (hes won the IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year
honors for six consecutive years), along with Mike Bub
on upright bass and Jason Carters combustible fiddle.
Add Dels lonesome and high tenor as lead
vocals and his guitar- strumming to the mix and you have a
band that is among bluegrass most honored.
They have made giant strides into the mainstream recently
with television appearances on PBSs Sessions at West 54th,
as well as on late night television with David Letterman and
Conan OBrien. Phish fans fell in love with the band during
Farm Aid and their joint recording effort and tour in support
of The Mountain with Steve Earle earned scores
of rock fans.
