On Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at 7PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC) in Huntington, Long Island will present a rock concert with JEFFERSON STARSHIP.  The band features Starship founders Paul Kantner and Marty Balin on guitars and vocals, David Freiberg (reunited after 20 years) on vocals and various instruments, Diana Mangano on vocals, Prairie Prince on drums, Slick Aguilar on guitar and vocals, and Chris Smith on keyboards.

Jefferson Starship, a collaboration of celebrated musicians that plays from the rich songbook of its legendary forefathers Jefferson Airplane and the original incarnation of Jefferson Starship, prevails as one of the most critically acclaimed touring acts today.  They were one of the seminal bands to emerge from the musical ‘fertile crescent’ of San Francisco in the early ‘60’s, and features a stellar cast of original and new players.  In 1970, Jefferson Starship took over where it’s predecessor, Jefferson Airplane left off, forging some of the most influential music of the era.  Their music celebrates a gentler era of peace, love and rock-n-roll that still runs deep through the counter-culture’s psyche.  For this tour Jefferson Starship will perform selections from the classic music of Jefferson Airplane.

Tickets for this performance are $40.00 ($30.00 for IMAC Members).  For tickets or further information on this performance, or on other IMAC programs, call IMAC's 24-hour Arts-Line at (631) 549-ARTS.   Tickets can also be purchased at the theater from noon to 6PM, Tuesday through Friday, 2PM to 6PM on Saturdays and after 2PM on the day of the performances.   For further information, call IMAC's business office at (631) 549-9666.
