On
Friday, October 1st, 2004 at 9PM, the Inter-Media Art Center
(IMAC) in Huntington, Long Island will present a concert with
guitarist and founder of THE BYRDS ROGER McGUINN.
Roger
McGuinn was already a veteran of the New York and Los Angeles
music scene when he co-founded the group that would become
the Byrds with Gene Clark and David Crosby in 1964. Just prior
to forming the Byrds, McGuinn was performing solo at the Troubadour
in Los Angeles, having earlier toured and performed folk music
with the Limeliters, Chad Mitchell Trio and Bobby Darin as
a guitarist and banjo player.
“Treasures
From The Folk Den” released in 2001 includes traditional
songs recorded by McGuinn and Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Judy
Collins, Odetta, Jean Ritchie, Josh White Jr., Tommy Makem,
and Frank and Mary Hamilton. It was nominated for a Grammy
as “Best Traditional Folk Album”.
Tickets
for this performance are $37.50 ($28.50 for IMAC Members).
