On Friday, May 2nd, 2008 at 7:30PM & 10:00PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (also known as “IMAC”) in Huntington, Long Island will present an evening with the exclusive, authorized and authentic re-creation of GENESIS- The Musical Box- performing “Selling England By The Pound” concert. Genesis has fully supported The Musical Box in every aspect!   They are the only band in the world granted a license by Genesis and Peter Gabriel.  Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett, Michael Rutherford, and Tony Banks have directly helped to make The Musical Box the premiere re-creation band of Genesis.

For more than 10 years, The Musical Box has been re-enacting Genesis’ “Selling England By The Pound”, “Foxtrot” and “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” concerts.  Extensive research makes The Musical Box performances as real and accurate as possible.  Famous for it complexity, Genesis’ music had been a continuous challenge to reproduce and perform.  To this end, The Musical Box acquired many vintage instruments and collectibles. To help with charts and arrangements, Tony Banks invited the band to listen to the original multi-tracks recordings.

Visual reproduction was based on a relentless search for archived photos, amateur film, articles, and interviews with Genesis crew members of the time.  They were given access to the original Genesis slide show.  Sets, costumes, lights, special effects and choreography were meticulously reproduced.  World wide recognition of The Musical Box has brought the band to prestigious venues.  The Musical Box has had the privilege of being joined by both Steve Hackett and Phil Collins during encores, and of Peter Gabriel and Michael Rutherford attending a performance.

Tickets for this performance are $50.00 ($37.50 for IMAC Members).  For tickets or further information on this performance, or on other IMAC programs, call IMAC's 24-hour Arts-Line at (631) 549-ARTS.   Tickets can also be purchased at the theater from noon to 6PM, Tuesday through Friday, 2PM to 6PM on Saturdays and after 2PM on the day of the performances or online at www.imactheater.org.   For further information, call IMAC's business office at (631) 549-9666.
