On Friday, March 28th, 2008 at 8PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (also known as “IMAC”) in Huntington, Long Island will present an evening with Paul Brown’s Guitar Night featuring Kenny Rankin and Marc Antoine.

Host Paul Brown extends to you a warm invitation to kick back and be a part of this extraordinary jam, with his guests Kenny Rankin and Marc Antoine, together for the entire evening.

In a remarkable recording career that spans three and a half decades, Kenny Rankin has established an impressive set of creative credentials, as an insightful songwriter, a distinctive guitarist and, above all, a world-class singer possessing an uncanny ability to cut straight to a song’s emotional heart.  While his supple, pristine tenor has earned his status as a singer’s singer, Rankin’s songwriting talents have been widely recognized by his peers.  His “In the Name of Love” inspired a memorable version by Peggy Lee, while his “Haven’t We Met” has been cut by a number of jazz and pop artists including Carmen McRae and Mel Torme.  With the crisp jazzy sound of his beloved Gibson L-5 guitar once again front and center, two-time Grammy Award winner Paul Brown keeps his grooving momentum going.  Quickly closing in on a staggering fifty #1 charting airplay hits as the smooth jazz genre’s top producer over the past 15 years, Brown has the unique experience in 2006 of scoring a #1 Radio & Records chart hit as both an artist and producer.  Contemporary jazz guitarist Marc Antoine blends his classical training with a multi-cultural urban groove.  After studying at the Edouard Paiteron College and the International School of Classical Guitar, he played with a typically varied cast of artists: pop stars like Sting, Basia and Selena, rappers like Queen Latifah, plus acid jazz hipsters the Solsonics and DJ Greyboy.

Tickets for this performance are $50.00 ($37.50 for IMAC Members).  For tickets or further information on this performance, or on other IMAC programs, call IMAC's 24-hour Arts-Line at (631) 549-ARTS.   Tickets can also be purchased at the theater from noon to 6PM, Tuesday through Friday, 2PM to 6PM on Saturdays and after 2PM on the day of the performances or online at www.imactheater.org.   For further information, call IMAC's business office at (631) 549-9666.
