On FRIDAY, October 31st, 2008 at
7 & 9:30PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC)
in Huntington, Long Island will host a concert with contemporary
jazz sensations RUSS FREEMAN & THE RIPPINGTONS
To The Rippingtons, innovation is merely business as usual. For
the past 20 years the group’s signature sophisticated-yet-accessible sound-
combining jazz, pop, R&B, Latin and world music elements- has defined and
shaped contemporary jazz. It has made The Rippingtons one
of the most popular instrumental ensembles in the world. Always at the
technological forefront, The Rippingtons, led by the gifted
composer/producer/guitarist Russ Freeman, utilize the most state-of –the-art
instruments and recording techniques available to create each album. Throughout
the 90’s, as their sound evolved and their concerts took on deeper creative
dynamics, Freeman became aware of the fan’s growing desire for a live chronicle
of the current show. The result is a vibrant, live collection of the kind
of intricate-yet-catchy compositions we’ve come to expect from the group.
Tickets for this performance are $45.00 ($34.00 for
