On Saturday, April 12th, 2008 at 8PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (also known as “IMAC”) in Huntington, Long Island will present a concert with singing sister trio The Roches.
The Roches are Maggie, Terre, and Suzzy, three sisters from New York City. Known for their swirling harmonies and extraordinary lyrical perspective as well as their smart and fun live performances, they have created a unique musical expression perhaps best described as “Roche Music.” Their self titled debut album, The Roches, was hailed as the Best Record of The Year by The New York Times. Their children’s recording, Will You Be My Friend, was celebrated with The Parent’s Gold Choice Award. We Three Kings, a collection of Christmas and Holiday songs, is a perennial favorite in households all across the United States and overseas. Besides several appearances on The Tonight Show, David Letterman, and A Prairie Home Companion, they have recorded and written music for movies and TV including their own episode of Steven Spielberg's “Tiny Toons,” as well as songs for the movie “Land Before Time” and the score for “Crossing Delancey,” which included a cameo role for Suzzy. They’ve performed and recorded with Philip Glass, Paul Simon and The Indigo Girls just to name a few.

Lucy Wainwright Roche is a singer/songwriter and performer known for her clear, powerful voice and her refreshingly straightforward stage presence. Lucy hails from what could be called a musical dynasty. Her parents are musicians, Suzzy Roche and Loudon Wainwright III, and her maternal aunts are Maggie and Terre Roche, who with Suzzy formed the group The Roches. Her siblings are Martha Wainwright and Rufus Wainwright. Lucy has sung with all of the afore-mentioned.
Lucy was a teacher in NYC for several years but has now gone into music full-time and in 2007 went on tour with her father, her brother Rufus and many other musical acts. Lucy has recently released an EP entitled “8 Songs”. IMAC is thrilled to welcome this upcoming and gift performer to our stage.
