On Saturday, October 13th, 2007 at 8PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (also
known as “IMAC”) in Huntington, Long Island
will present an evening of the music of Frank Sinatra My Sinatra starring CARY HOFFMAN: The Songs and the Stories.
Before Cary Hoffman returned to the stage to sing the great songs of the 50’s and 60’s Sinatra, he was a very successful songwriter/ producer, having written a hit off-Broadway musical, two top 20 country hits and some of country’s most well known jingles. As a personal manager, Cary discovered the great R&B crooner Luther Vandross.
Five years ago, as a lark, Cary was invited to sing some Sinatra songs with Stan Rubin’s Big Band in a New York City nightclub. As fate would have it, the New York Times happened to be there and the rest is history. Cary has been performing the music of Frank Sinatra for the past five years and becoming New York’s premier Sinatra interpreter, garnering incredible critic response (New York Times “Dead On”, New York Post “Amazing, like Sinatra in his prime,” Will Friedwald, Jazz critic “Just a great singer.”) and selling out every Saturday night at New York’s Carnegie Club.
Cary’s love of the music is an integral part of his show, brilliantly performing Sinatra’s 50’s classics and telling the stories of how the music came to be. The compelling blend of vocal performance and stories led to NY’s Public Television approaching Cary to do his show, MY SINATRA, as a national PBS television special.
Tickets for this performance are $37.50 ($28.50 for IMAC Members). For tickets or further information on this performance, or on other IMAC programs, call IMAC's 24-hour Arts-Line at (631) 549-ARTS.
