On Friday, February 15th, 2008 at 8PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC) in Huntington, Long Island will present a concert of rock, blues and New Orleans R&B with the subdudes.

In 1987, four musicians got together for what they thought would be a one-time performance.  They played mostly acoustic music- sparse instrumentation with a strong emphasis on vocal harmonies and percussion.  The show far exceeded their expectations and that night the subdudes were born.  Nearly 10 years later, after five critically acclaimed recordings and years of hard touring, the band called it quits in November 1996.  Spin-off projects ensued including Tiny Town, Three Twins and the Tommy Malone Band, as did the occasional reunion show.  Finally, three of the four original subdudes ran into each other in Colorado and jammed. Lo and behold, the spark ignited again.

Today, the band consists of three of the four original subdudes, Tommy Malone, with his passionate voice and astonishing guitar playing, Steve Amedee, who has taken tambourine playing to celestial level and John Magnie, whose funky keyboards and juicy accordion round out their unique sound.  Add to the mix, Tim Cook on vocals, bass and percussion and Jimmy Messa on bass and guitar, and you have a highly original sound driven by superb song writing, outstanding vocals and incredible musicianship.

Tickets for this performance are $40.00 ($30.00 for IMAC Members).  For tickets or further information on this performance, or on other IMAC programs, call IMAC's 24-hour Arts-Line at (631) 549-ARTS.   Tickets can also be purchased at the theater from noon to 6PM, Tuesday through Friday, 2PM to 6PM on Saturdays and after 2PM on the day of the performances.   For further information, call IMAC's business office at (631) 549-9666.
