On
Saturday, March 24th at 9 PM, the Inter-Media Art Center in
Huntington, Long Island will host a concert with husband and
wife, vocalist and guitarist team of TUCK & PATTI.
One
female voice and one guitar are the simple ingredients that
Tuck & Patti blend to create a potent mix of music.
They played small clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area
for a decade before recording their first album, Tears of Joy
for Windham Hill Jazz in 1988.
That album catapulted them to worldwide recognition,
remaining on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Chart for six
months. Their hit
single from that release, Takes My Breath Away was chosen as
the theme song for the 1989 International Special Olympics,
and their live performance at the opening ceremonies in Squaw
Valley introduced them to an even greater worldwide audience.
They followed up with Love Warriors, an eclectic
combination of Brazilian sounds, jazz standards and gospel,
topped off with a vintage Jimi Hendrix medley.
All of their albums showcase the writing and vocal
skills of Patti Cathcart and the breathtaking guitar artistry
of her husband, Tuck Andress, who Musician Magazine
calls "...one of the most extraordinary guitarists to
ever put ten fingers against guitar strings."
Tickets for
this performance are $30.00 general public ($22.50 for IMAC
Members) and can be obtained by calling IMAC's 24-hour
