On Friday, October 26th at 9 PM, the Inter-Media Art Center
in Huntington, Long Island will host an
evening with blues guitarist and living legend JIMMIE VAUGHAN.
There
are other bluesmen who have sold more CDs, had more hits,
and play faster and louder. But if it's cool
you want, and impeccable guitar to boot, Jimmie Vaughan is
your man. He is far more than just one of the
greatest and most respected guitarists in the world of popular
music; he's a three time Grammy winner as well.
The older brother of the late blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Jimmie Vaughan has developed a style that is
clean, economical and highly articulate, concentrating on
rhythmic accents and lead work that relies on the
power of his "less is more" approach.
As
a founding member of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmie Vaughan
has shared the stage and jammed with
such bluesmen as Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and a
host of others, all of whom recognize Vaughan as
the man who would keep the music they developed alive for
future generation. On the strength of such hits as
"Tuff Enuff" and years of worldwide touring, The
Fabulous Thunderbirds brought the blues back into the pop
charts. As Jimmie Vaughan emerges as a solo artist in his
own right, his reputation as a master musician
becomes more apparent thanks to the admiration of blues legends
like King, Buddy Guy, guitar superstars Eric
Clapton and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, and rising talent like
Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. IMAC is
delighted to welcome JIMMIE VAUGHAN to our stage.
