On Saturday, December 3rd, 2005
at 8PM & 10:30PM, the Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC)
in Huntington, Long Island will present a concert with guitarist
PETER WHITE, saxophonist MINDI ABAIR and trumpeter RICK
BRAUN.
Since he burst onto the scene in 1990,
guitarist PETER WHITE has made quite a name for himself.
His first solo album, “Reveillez-Vous” was ranked
the fifth best selling album of 1990, a year in which he
was also named Best New Male Artist of the Year. He released
his second album, “Excusez-Moi”, in 1992, and
it became the #2 New Adult Contemporary album of that year.
His newest release is “Glow”. White has performed
on recordings by Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, The Crusaders,
Craig Chaquico, Greg Vail, Joe McBride, 3rd Force and an
upcoming project by Kirk Whalum.
MINDI ABAIR is not your father’s
jazz musician, but she is the daughter of one. Pop, R&B,
soul and jazz were all seminal musical influences on Abair,
who grew up in a musical household. Her major label debut
“It Just Happens That Way” showcases Mindi’s
abilities as not only a distinctive voice on saxophone but
also as a writer. The album features contemporary jazz laced
with R&B/soul rhythms and pop melodies on songs like
“Lucy’s”, “Save the Last Dance”
and the title song.
A pioneering trumpeter in contemporary
jazz, RICK BRAUN has truly hit his groove. With his new
Warner Brothers release, Esperanto, this two-time smooth
jazz “Artist of the Year” continues to blend
soulful melodies and forceful funk rhythms with a cool contemporary
vibe that has become his signature. Trumpet phenomenon,
producer, composer and arranger, Rick Braun escalates his
already ascendant career with dimensional and delightful
compositions/ collaborations that include Boney James, Richard
Elliot, Peter White, Jeff Golub and 3rd Force.

($30.00 for IMAC Members). For tickets or further information
